Bardsey Island, September 2018

I was delighted to be welcomedback once again as the artist in residence for a third time. This trip was by far the wildlest, windiest and the wettest which meant many dramatic painting opportunities!

The waves got very big, and so we were marooned on the island a further 2 days much to my delight!

The light was incredibly beautiful at this time of the year and made all the more exciting, colourful and dramatic by the stormy weather, well worth weathering it!

My solution to the wild week ahead: tent pegs jubilee clipped onto my super lightweight easel. It held fast all week and never blew away despite the gale force winds.

The waves were pretty big that week, I wasn't looking forward to the boat ride off!

This is where I watched the Gannets slicing the air around the island at speed.

Redshanks on the rocks.

The sea was as wild as I had feared! But we made it back safely.
